Madonna di Campiglio, you can discover this winter sport, practised by mushers who run “dog sled races” with their sleds driven by a dog team.
Dog sled rides are not available everywhere. Therefore, don’t miss this exciting opportunity during you holiday at Garnì Lago Nembia and contact the sled dog centre “Athabaska” - just 45 minutes by car from our hotel.
You can undertake wonderful rides with a trainer: be comfortably seated in the sled, enjoy the breath-taking landscape of the Dolomites and appreciate the great ability of the dogs. Should you wish to drive the dogs personally, your trainer will be at your side.
Winter rides take place every day (only advance booking accepted) in the Nambino plane near Madonna di Campiglio (Trento). An 8-husky team will drive you on a 4 km-trail. A second option also includes a visit to the Alpine hut “Darè”: in this Winter Farm, you can see Scottish cows, lamas, alpacas, Vietnamese potbellied pigs, bunnies and the legendary huskies!
The farm visit ends with a warm drink.
- Introduction to dog sled racing (about 1 hour) with dog sledding session: € 100 per person (adults/children)
- Dog sled ride (about 10 min) - transport only: € 40 per adult / € 30 per child
